Great place to six, relax, and have lunch or coffee. Staff is friendly and the owner is even better. Always new artwork on display and some of the best sandwiches and salads in town. Unlike the unfair 1-star rating below for being closed...I give it 5-stars for being a great spot in a mid-small town.

Hands down the best coffee in Sioux City. Places like this will hopefully put Starbucks out of business someday. Not only is the food and coffee top-notch, but the staff actually have personalities; unlike the baristas at Starbucks who seem robotic and humorless. It's one of the few places in Sioux City that offers vegan choices daily. The hummus wrap is especially tasty and always fresh. If you are in the mood for Thanksgiving leftovers try the Nutty Bird. Believe me, just try it! That and a french press coffee should do the trick!

I don't drink coffee, so I can't review that. I do like the sandwiches. It's a choose what you want on it type of place. There are lists of ingredients that you can choose from, or order a sandwich with predetermined ingredients. The ingredients include some surprising items, like fresh basil leaves. They have great whole grain bread ad I like this place for a cold sandwich.

Coffee shops seem to come and go around Siouxland, but not this one. Why is that you ask...The best way for you to answer that question is to stop in and see (taste) for yourself. The food is amazing! It's by far the most unique place to head for lunch in Sioux City. The coffee is second to none. The staff are always very friendly...in fact, if you introduce yourself to Ron (owner) chances are he'll remember your name and what your favorite coffee is the next time you stop in.. Hats off to Ron and his crew!

Pierce Street Coffee Works is a little hippy coffee joint with free wifi....that was literally my impression of the place. Overall, the place gave off a great vibe! Young and hip staff members that are eclectic and fun. I needed some wifi to get some work done on my trip home and found this place on Yelp. Ordered me a cup of coffee and a sandwich; which came with deli turkey, sprouts, tomato and a pesto mayo. It was sandwiched between a crunchy yet soft in the middle bun which I can describe as a crunchy hoagie. Nice and subtle combination, but it worked! They were rocking to some old school hip hop and pop music from my era and thought to myself wow this place rocks! I sat at the counter top table and did some work and writing while jamming to my favorites. What else can a guy ask for - wink! - Enjoy!

Stopped by to get some wifi while on a road trip through Middle America. Didn't get much - scone was pretty good. Friendly service. Looked like the only thing open in the area on a Sunday so I'm grateful for that.

Had occasion to stop in here while in this city. It's a Mom and Pop type of place. Very friendly people and a great atmosphere. The coffee is very good. They serve food also and you can pick and choose what you want on your sandwich. Very reasonable and a good place to stop for lunch.

The atmosphere was artsy and comfortable, service okay, cup of coffee mediocre. I would be willing to go back to give their food a try, but for an average cup of coffee I'll stick with Starbucks.

Best coffee in Sioux city. The staff is refreshingly playful and the coffee is good

This place would get 5 stars if they could be open longer / later. A great mom-and-pop cafe with a really good vibe, delicious food, good coffee and fun atmosphere. The owners are here everyday and know many of the customers by name. One of our favorite places in Sioux City!

We were excited to try this place after seeing such positive reviews. Our hopes, however, were cruelly dashed. We showed up at 4:30, after a long day making sales calls around town, prepared to sit for an hour or so and enjoy our coffee before supper. The joint was closed. Had been for half an hour. Complain all you want about Starbucks driving local places out of business, but when I can't show up at a place that says it's a coffee house at 4:30 in the afternoon I'm going to think twice about going out of my way to patronize local places when I travel. I'm sure Coffee Works is delightful with great coffee--when it's open. I will never know. By the way, the Starbucks is open until 10pm.

I pined on 3 or 4 stars for a few days. I feel bad shooting down a place that with a little encouragement could be a top-notch establishment. I went with three because I was pleased with the service, but it wasn't my favorite. The crema of my espresso was inconsistent and a little light, though tasted good. My capp was a little wet and done reverse, which is total gangster, but I didn't request it that way (and kind of masks a drink with too much milk). The Olstoria (Rapallo?) semi-manual lever machine kind of used as a super-auto that was tamped manually. No manual extraction, really. Bottom line: If I lived in SUX or the surrounding area, this would be my spot to hang out and drink my favorite brew. Bar-none the best coffee I had from a city 100,000 or less in pop on my PHX - Midwest road trip - many fails, where Pierce Street wasn't. Locally roasted beans from Caturra were done well, though was a pretty standard espresso blend as I recall. All that said, some work could be done to the coffee (both brewing and possibly bean) that would make it soar. I didn't try the food, but the menu looked good. I look forward to hitting this place next time I'm in the area and revising my review.

I've been visiting the Pierce Street Coffee Works for many years now. I used to go more frequently when it first opened up- in the early '90s. I visited last week with a friend and was blown away by the shear variety of items they now offer. in addition to a huge coffee menu, they offer a wide selection of sandwiches and pastries. Their atmosphere is colorful and artistic- very laid back, featuring local artist's work. The staff is great- although you may encounter a sour tart now and again. Bathrooms are clean and the tables are frequently bused. If in the area, give it a try for lunch and a cup of coffee, it's a great place.

They have great coffee (Peace Coffee beans!), good bagels, and a great atmosphere. I can only imagine that anything else is also excellent in this neighborhood coffee shop.

Great, healthy food and comfortable atmosphere.

Staff is warm, inviting, and sooo freaking personalble and friendly. Red pepper soup was simply divine. This was by far my favorite eatery in Sioux City.

Better than Starbucks! Sioux City's oldest coffee-house excells at brewing great coffee drinks in a bohemian environment. Local artwork adorns the colorful walls and the staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable. The sandwiches and soups they make may have some strange combinations, but are very tasty. A great place for lunch or a cup of coffee!

Good coffee. Awesome decor. I stopped in for lunch on a cold, wintry day and had some soup and grilled cheese. Really nice place to hang out.

This is my personal gold standard for coffee. Great food. Excellent service. Relaxing atmosphere. The chains can't compare. Ron has a good thing going!

Staying in "Siouxland" for a week for my job. Mission 1: find a coffee shop. Hotel coffee is rancid. I've tried a few places in town, not worth reviewing, and this is the best. In fact, I am back a second day in a row and the staff recognized me. Good coffee. I had iced tea yesterday that hit the spot. They have a variety of sandwiches, soups, and vegetarian options. It's got your typical coffee shop atmosphere... art, books, newspapers... coffee house music playing... you know the drill. Stop on in and use their wireless while you get lunch. I did. And I will again.
